My motherboard with the SATA interface died on my NASLite machine. I'm back up and running with a new MB, but I would like to move NASLite to an older machine without SATA. I have an IDE card with RAID, and some data also on the SATA disk.

Is there configuration data on the NASLite partition of the SATA disk, or should I just reinstall NASLite on the PATA hard drive and plug in the RAID card? I'm not concerned about the data on the SATA disk, only the configuration data on the NASLite partition.

In short, what's the best way to migrate a NASLite configuration from one hard disk to another?

Thanks

I've searched and didn't recognize anything that matched my issue.

The PATA RAID card may not work as a RAID card, unless it is a true hardware RAID card of a type supported in that section of the Hardware Reference document.

The RAID card works fine - it is the LSI logic MegaRAID i4. My main question is if there is any configuration data on the NASlite partition of the SATA disk that needs to be migrated or not.

All that is stored on the NASLite-2 partition of the install HDD is the installation itself and any settings you have made. The data drives themselves "announce" themselves to NASLite-2 on bootup (remember, NASLite-2 configures itself *every* boot based on the hardware available to it).

I have previously tried to install HDD to a RAID drive - it won't. This may be fixed in the multi-installer which should be included in v2.07.
