I'm trying to connect my tvix M5000 to the naslite server using either NFS or samba protocol.
I created a tvixhd1 folder on one of the Naslite disks, give the correct network adress in the tvix networking page, but I cannot achieve to connect the two elements.

Can you give some advise to make it

Best regards

I have my DVICO TVIX 5130 successfully working as follows with my 2.06 CDD NAS LIET 2 iinstallation.:

(5130 very similar to 5000):
On TVIX:

1) SHARE NAME
Share name is disk-0 or disk-1 etc depending on what the NASLITE disk share is.

(dont use folders, can only see entire disk)

2) IP address is the NAS ip address of course

3) I can ONLY get slow SAMBA to work, NFS doesnt work with the TVIX
NFS gives immeidate "error cannot connect to disk" on TVIX.

4) have given up trying toi get NFS (even using the DVICO tool) working on an XP box. Samba setting and a standard windows share works fine. Just use the folder name for the coputer. Dont think you can have the same folder name shared on several drives on the XP.

Performance:
I have no problem viewing/watching/listening Xvid's and Mp3's . Performance across a nominal 54mpbs wifi link shows NASLITE feeding at sub-150kBps for vid.

Allow around 10secs for the download to buffer (you should see the total time correct itself to the movie length when ready...give it some time).

Performance2: I use a Wifi box (TPLINK but several can do it) configured as a client (for WPA-PSK)as the Tvix only allows WEP for the "supported" plugin wifi adapters.

Notes:
The TVIX documentation is not great but I understand latter firmwares have done away with the hardcoded requirement for the share name being tvixhd1 etc..So disk-0...disk-1 etc work fine. I have the latest TVIX firmware ver 1.3.5F

My woman (She who must be obeyed) thinks the TVIX and the lil box in the attic running NASLITE and loaded with WestWing (7 seasons) is the coolest thing since sliced bread. She spent an entire weekend churning thru Season 1 and 2 so far.

Updating this thread with success in setting up NFS shares to NASLITE instead of the slower SAMBA shares .

Tested on TVIX 5130 (fw 1.4.52) to NASLITE 2.06 (CD).

Assuming your NASLITE is called:- NAS
and is on IP :- 192.168.0.52

(note..no need to set up particular folders or names on the NAS...each disk is shared from root)

*** slow SAMBA/SMB settings in TVIX, slow connections..adequate for DIVX movie feeds.:-
sharename: Disk-0 (case sensitive, where "0" is zero)
ip: 192.168.000.052

*** faster connections NFS, loads faster, more responsive to fast forward/rewinds
sharename: /export/Disk-0 ( case sensitive )
ip: as above

Change to Disk-1 etc as required for other NASLITE disks.
