Assuming 7200RPM HDD, what is the EXPECTED boot-up time for a NASLite-2 HDD system?
Also assume a correctly configured system BIOS.
Assume 512MB SD-RAM, and 850MHz P3 Socket 370 CPU.

I don't care about exact figures, just an approximation, as I don't have my copy yet.

Essentially, I want to know if it would be quicker to get going then NanoNAS-2, which is a great system too, but takes a wee while to uncompress and load. Current startup time is 2:17, but when booting from a floppy disk, that's perhaps to be expected.

My aim to to cut down on that by upgrading to NASLite-2 HDD.

My own 2c is that being HDD based, it should load much quicker, but if ANYONE running NASLite-2 HDD could perhaps just post how long it takes their server to be up and running from pressing of the power button, it would give me some reference points. :)

I just power on my NASLite-2 HDD. Started my stop watch. The hard drive takes a little time to come up 8 sec. after the little clicking stopps. Like when the head gets to the right place. Then it's 47 sec. when the 3 beep ready sound goes! That fast I think.

So 47 sec for my boot up. It's on a Mini-ITX Intel board. With a celeron CPU. 533 MHz one.
