As per the subject line, if I have a 500GB Primary Master IDE drive(or SATA port 1 for example, if SATA drive is used), can NASLite be installed onto a small partition of it's own, and allow use of the rest of the disk for exported data, or does NASLite essentially occupy the entire disk(even if it's not really using more then about 1% of it!), meaning that you can really only export data from the Primary Slave onwards(or SATA port 2)?

ADDITIONAL: - I've found out you can. After I downloaded the manual for NASLite-2, page 7, paragraph under Initial NASLite-2 HDD Setup, it says that:
Quote:
NASLite-2 HDD boot files take up very little space and using a 16MB or larger Flash should be sufficient. If a fixed disk is used, it is possible to configure and use the remaining capacity of the fixed disk as storage.

Question answered.
:P

ADDITIONAL ADDITIONAL: - How exactly do you configure the remainder of the disk as storage? The manual says you can, then does not tell you how. It mentions setting up the disk, and the first step is a format which will wipe everything - including the NASLite-2 HDD system from the disk. :?: How do you setup the rest of the drive as storage, after you have installed NASLite-2 HDD onto it in the previous steps, without the format erasing the NAS system?

A small partition is created for HDD and the rest of the drive available as a separate partition. This partition can be formatted and exported, just like any other drive in NASLite-2, the only difference is that this is a second partition on the boot drive.

AHHHHHH!
I thought that might have been what happens, but I was not sure, as there was no mention of having to create the partitions - obviously NASLite-2 HDD does all this for me.
:)

Thanks.
