I was very pleased with the Server Elements communication. What's the new thing? It's not explained, it's not clear what's going on.

Think of it as a mini blog, when you log into your account you will see entries from the people you're following, and your comments will appear in their accounts if they are following you.
Easy way for you to keep in touch with people and companies from one location and vice versa.

I thought this would be less intrusive than sending out emails all the time.

I appreciate improvements, but yet another password, another login, another membership I do not need? I find direct email from Server Elements less intrusive, less troublesome, less time consuming than having to login to a service I do not need, I will not use.

For business & personal contacts I favor Skype. Versatile, darn easy.

Please reconsider your new policy.

I too prefer e-mail (you don't send mails so often as to become "intrusive") or via this excellent forum or via an RSS feed.

Regards

Using Twitter is purely optional. We have no plans to use it in place of announcement email or this forum. It is simply another vehicle where people can receive updates.

If you find Twitter intrusive and choose not to use it, then you'll still receive our announcement emails as you've done in the past. Nothing has to change.

Final release announcements will always be sent in email as before.

However Twitter will be used for discount coupons, pre release notifications etc.

There seems to be a little disagreement on the use of Twitter between you and Tony.....?
I don't see a reason to use Twitter if you have all your customer's email addresses, and this very functional forum. I would appreciate notifications through email. I will not login to yet another account.

Absolutely not - We have never sent emails to registered users discussing topics such as state of development, new article publications, special offers, etc. Emails are sent only to announce releases. As Ralph pointed out, in addition to release announcements, Twitter will also be used for other general purpose topics pertaining to Server Elements.
