Hi,

I purchased a HP Smart Array P600 thinking that i will be able to setup some redudancy on my NASLITE server. I'm not quite sure it was the best choice, as it doesnt get past its self test. It gives me the error 1783 - Slot 10 Drive Array Controller Failure (Controller Self Test Failure) at post boot. I have a Tyan Tomcat i7210 Motherboard and am thinking that the raid card doesnt support it (only highend HP motherboards).

I cant seem to find any information about these cards working on anything apart from HP hardware. Does anyone else use one of these cards?

Also can someone tell me if NASLite even supports this card? The research that i have done indicates it uses the CCISS driver (cciss.sourceforge.net) which is part of the kernel in some distributions of linux.

Any information would be greatly appreciated as i feel like i may have wasted a lot of my hard earned money.

Thanks,
MARK.
