Hello!

I'd like to ask if HDD handles hardware additions. I've got a small server with NASLite-2 HDD on a CF card, and it works beautifully! :)

I'd like to add more RAM, and an Intel Gbit PCI network card, because the onboard Realtek 100Mbit port just isn't cutting it.

Will I be able to just add the PCI card, connect the cable, and use it? Or is there a more complicated ritual involved in this? Thanks!

Hi,

Adding RAM shouldn't change much (I think) but changing the NIC will force the update of the NASLite activation (real easy and fast).

So, unless I'm mistaken, you just need to reactivate NL (a couple of save config and reboots).

Don't forget to deactivate the onboard LAN in your BIOS when you'll add the new card (check on the compatibility list for the chip set of the new card)

Regards

Will HDD upgrades (additions) trigger this as well?
