I just recently bought a MVix 760HD which is basically a networked divx player which will automatically connect to any local Samba shares. I'm having difficulty mapping all of my NASLite+ shares and here is what their tech support says :

Quote:
There is a workaround for this, but not every NAS allows
you to do this, so it may or may not be possible for you.
See if there is a way to change the security level on your NAS
device from "user" to "share". If there is, then you're
in luck, change it to "share"

is there any way for me to specify these options somehow on the NAS itself ?

I also just purchased the MX-760HD and have similar issues. I am able to see the NAS shares on the MX-760HD but when I attempt to open them I get an "access deny". This sounds like the same issue you have experienced. Have you been able to get it to work since your last post? I notice it is old.

I also have the MVIX 760HD and cannot access the shares. However, the NASLite products are a new introduction to my network and all of my other methods have worked in the past (Linus Samba Shares and Windows Shares) - in fact - I have about 500GB of music and videos on my XP computer shared out and it works FLAWLESSLY. I hope the guys from NASlite can answer this one because like you, I also want to be able to offset these collections to the NASlite.

Kinda weird that I can access all the shares perfectly (no password promting etc.) until I use the MVIX - all I get is ACCESS DENY. I think we need to get on the MVIX people too - it's been a while since they have updated the firmware and there is still a few quirky things on the MVIX I'd like to see get rectified soon.

Make sure you have the CIFS share enabled and try putting some videos in the root directory to see if it sees them.
