Help! I know this one has been chewed over in many previous threads but none of the advice has (so far) worked for me.

I had to replace my router yesterday when my old one went bang. Since then I can only access my NASLite via ftp or http. Trying to access the shares gets the old "NASLITE-2 is unavailable. You might not have the permissions to access this resource"

I've had this before nad usually found that taking the windows PC's out of the workgroup (by putting them in another one) and then adding them back to my workgroup does the trick. This time it hasn't worked - I can see the NAS box under my workgroup but just can't access any shares. I've tried editing restrictanonymoussam in the registry (found that one on MIT's website!) but no joy.

The IP for the NAS is outside of the DHCP range. And I've even re-installed one PC from scratch and set that up in the workgroup (with a user name and password) and still no joy.

I'm considering just use bits of paper to store information.....

Yes - Sygate Personal Firewall. I wondered about that though so they are currently set to allow all traffic. Windows firewall is off too.

I've just gone one stage further and exited the firewall on the machine I'm typing from. No change.

I appreciate that this is probably a Windows issue but it makes no sense for three computers to be affected in this way - it does rather point to the NAS being the source of the problem somehow?

Are the PC's in a domain? I think that's why my work laptop doesn't like my server at home - will not allow me to map a drive.

Yes I can ping the client PC's

I've just run a Linux session (Mandriva) on another machine (Live CD not fully installed) - it can see the Windows machines on my network and access their SMB shares but won't access the NAS shares.

Something is screwy with the NAS methinks.
