Hi,

I just purchased a PCI ATA/SATA card with a Via VT6421A chip.
The documentation says it works as SATA (which Naslite2-USB does very well) but not as an IDE (ATA) controller.

Is there a way to make it support IDE (ATA) disks?

Thanks & Regards

I'm not sure I understand your goal. Are you attempting to use IDE drives with a SATA add-on board? :?

Hi Tony,

This is a board having 2 SATA ports + 1 IDE BUS connector (2 ATA disks).

From VIA site: "The VIA VT6421A features two Serial ATA channels, supporting up to two devices and one Parallel ATA channel supporting two devices."

Looks like Naslite2 (USB) supports the SATA channels of the chip, not the ATA side.

Thanks & Regards

Ah,

Yeah, some chipsets will be supported on one side only, so only IDE or SATA but not both.

I guessed so (but it's a pity, at times).
Thanks & Regards (& congrats for Naslite, an excellent product)
