Hi all, i am a naslite newbie and am having some install problems,
I have burnt the cd image and can boot up the computer with it
the next screen is some sort of post screen wich follows the usb flash utlity cd-rom which fails goiving me a message "unable to mount cd-rom"
followed by

unmout : none busy - remounted read only
the system is going down now
sending sigterm to all processes
sending sigkill to all processes
the system is halted. press reset or turn off power
power down

is this a chipset driver issue ?
have burnt 3 copys of the program to try it all the same ?
computer is as bellow :-

foxconn - P9657AA-8EKRS2H MB
intel celeron d 336+ 2.8 Ghz 533 fsb
512 MB DDR2 corsair RAMgeforce2 mx400 64mb pci graphics
80 GIG diamond max IDE to start with till get working

m/b has onboard 1gig lan
ide port
6 x sata2 ports

using ps2 kb and mouse


could somebody please advise before i throw my machine out of the window !

Is the CD-ROM you are using IDE? If not that would be the problem. :wink:

No the cd drive that i am using is a dvd/cd rw and is an ide interface

Have you got another PC you can use to program the USB pen?.

I have just done that mate, But still having no luck

I can get naslite to boot up now but get the following message after the kernal has loaded

IEE1394 sbp2 driver forced to Serialise I/O Serialise(i/0 =1)

then the next page

checking resources - this line appers twice on the list the first line i get Busy in yellow text and the second line done in green

after aprox 3 mins i get the following message

detecting config device failed
the computer then beeps several times and then shuts down

got any ideas ????????

Disable USB2 in the BIOS.

sorry to sound daft mate. . but if i disable usb in bios how do i boot it up ?
or do you mean make the port as a usb 1.0 type ?
would i be better getting an ide cf card as some peaple have to boot up from :?

Steve,

In the Bios got to onboard devices.

in
USB Controller
This option is used to set whether the USB Controller is enabled. The
available setting values are: Disabled and Enabled.

leave enabled.

in
USB 2.0 Controller
This option is used to set whether the USB 2.0 Controller is enabled.
Set as Disabled.
