Hello,

I just installed NasLite into a Small Business environment and so far I am loving it. I am using it to act as our NAS/Digital Asset Management server.

I have Disk-0 holding the installation of NasLite and Disk-1 is a Raid5 array where my users access there information.

I got to thinking if Disk-0 dies, which is single hard-drive, what are my options?

I have all my data safe on a Raid-5 array on Disk-1, but if something happens to Disk-0, which contains the NasLite installation, am I screwed?

So I have a few questions:

1) What are my options if Disk-0 fails?
2) Should I switch to USB Version? Is there any more stability since a USB drive is probably less likely to die?

Thanks!

You don't need to worry about it. If your boot drive fails, make a new boot drive. You can also get a DOM or a CF to IDE to boot from. That way there will be no issues with your boot drive. No matter what you boot from, your data will always be safe.
