I've been looking at these iPaq PCs on ebay and was wondering if anyone has tried running Naslite 2 HDD on one. Looking at the auctions, they seem to have a full size 3.5 HD inside, a built in nic and 5 usb ports, so it should make a pretty inexpensive little nas.

This is what I’m referring to

I bought one of these (very cheap) a few months ago. It has no floppy, and no optical drive, and the BIOS has been locked down to recognise only one drive, so I couldn't install an OS easily... and I rather lost interest! However, it's something to revisit in the dark winter evenings.
On the plus side, it's small, low-powered (so low consumption) and quiet.... ideal NASLite material?
Is anyone out there actually running one of these?

You could always use another computer to install NL2 on the drive you are planning to use (creating the first 16Mb partition) and migrate the HD to the ipac pc, unlock, configure and format the storage and you're set

simple as 1, 2, 3

it should work out great
