I just purchased the new 2.6 version of NASlite 2 USB -
I created the ISO and have two known good USB flash drives.
I have tried to setup NASlite on 2 different motherboards.

The PC will boot from the NASlite CD and start to boot the kernel, then it errors out and shuts down. The error I receive is below:

PCI: Unable to handle 64-bit address space for
PCI: Unable to handle 64-bit address space for
PCI: Unable to handle 64-bit address space for
ieee1394 : sbp2: Driver forced to serialize I/O(serialize_io=1)

Checking resources - > Busy/Done
Detecting Configuration Device (Unavailabble) - > Fail
Shutdown in progress

The 2 usb drives I have both work fine on this system and boot when using windows or dos utilitis.

The BIOS sees the USB drives fine and I can boot to them.

I've tried turning off all com, lpt, 1394 devices in the BIOS.

There is no option to disable APM or ACPI.

I have tried this on both of the following mainboards:
Intel D945GNT
Intel D975XBX

Both boards have 4ea Sata ports, and the 975 has 8.
I have tried the 945 with integrated graphics, and PCIe graphics.
I have tried the 975 board with both SATA controllers.
I have tried single and dual channel memory mode (1 or 2 pcs of ram)
I have tried different speeds of ram (DDR2 667 & 800)
Both boards have the latest BIOS installed.
Both boards run under gentoo linux without issue.
I have tried with the onboard GBE network card, and with the onboard NIC disabled and a PCI 10/100 card installed.
The drives I'm trying to use are 4ea 500GB Hitachi drives.
CPU installed is an Intel P4 630 (3.0ghz Prescot Core with HT)
Corsair and Samsung memory has been tried.

Any help or suggestions on how to get this up & running?
Please let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks!

Try disabling USB2 in the BIOS.

I can either turn USB all the way off, or swithc between high and full speed. I'm guessing the slower of the 2 options reverts the ports to USB 1 -

I'll give it a shot -

I tried both USB modes and received the same results -

Is my hardware too new to run with this software?

Are both drives the same?
I've had trouble with drives which work OK in windows etc, but Naslite refuses to recognise. I would try a different one if possible.

Each USB drive is different -
One is a Corsair and the other is another brand -

I'm going to try reburning the install ISO and I have one more board I can try - It's an intel board as well and I expect the same results...

I've now tried 3 different USB drives, plus a CF memory card attached to USB port-

I tried a Dell Poweredge SC420 - and I tried an Asus P5B and a N4L-VM DH board in addition to the boards listed above.

About the only commonality is every board has been an Intel Chipset board.
945, 945GM, 965, 975, and the E7221 in the Dell.

I've tried 3 copies of the ISO on 2 different brands of CDR media -

Setting USB for High Speed and full speed had no effect.
Setting USB for fixed, removable, or floppy had no effect.

Does anyone have NASlite 2 up and running on any of these chipsets?
Is there a command I can pass to the kernel that will allow for further debug?

Any suggestions are welcome.

I played with this pile of hardware and software a lot today... and I believe I figured it out.

I either ordered the incorrect software package or was sent the link for the wrong package.

This version seems to work fine with a CD Rom and floppy drive, but the ISO I grabbed will not program the USB to be bootable and hold the configuration files.

Not ideal but at least there's a solution for why things were giving me such a bad time. I borowed 4 USB flash drives from people and after I tried all of these plus the three I have I knew there was something else going on.

Can this version be swapped out for the USB version?

My bet is you ordered the wrong thing, but what I don't get is how did you get so far as to try and cram the CD version onto your usb drive. :)

Must be determination

That's the whole thing - I could never get it booted all the way so I didn't know. After I tried it on a system with a floppy installed it allowed me to log in and start configuring items -
