The last 7 items are the ones of note.

I have been having problems with NASLite crashing on shudtown (says "Aieeee" and "kernel panic" at one point when it crashes). I have also had one of 4 drives in a RAID 5 temporarily fall out of the RAID and the RAID have to be rebuilt. And since swapping power connections round it's changed to the other RAID5.

I have since changed the PSU from 500W Akasa to 650W Antec (3 rail), but the problem persists.

Any help would be appreciated.

Nick.

[edit] Just noticed that it may be down to my onboard NIC and one of the 3Ware cards "sharing" IRQ 11 - probably not a good idea! I'll try to work out how to change it. [/edit]

Your syslog looks like an IRQ hell. I'd probably spend some time and get that in order before looking at other stuff.

Quick update - rebuilt the offending RAID, as it failed the rebuild after 40 mins on at least 3 occasions - just as well I had just finished installing it's sister RAID to take all the data......

I switched off everything not needed in the BIOS and set all the IRQ PCI settings to disabled, PNP off. This has had the pleasing effect of setting 1 3Ware card to IRQ9, the other to IRQ11 and the onboard GBit NIC to IRQ10. No crashing on shutdown observed since this was changed (touch wood, quickly!).

ps. Thanks for the pointer to IRQ's Dimension!
