Hi

The PC I was using to telnet into the Admin console of the latest NASLite crashed. Now I cannot access the Admin console from any other machine as it thinks it is still open from the crashed windows PC.

How long will it not let me log in for until it finally realises that the PC calling it died?

Any ideas - I have to reformat the drives again to let me delete some files and I wanted to kick it off before I went to bed.

OK

Now this is REALLY silly.....

The NASLite Box is playing up and it won't let me access the management interface because a PC I was using to access it crashed on me.

Now you cannot access from the same, rebooted, machine, any other machine, Windows, Linux or MAC

And to add insult to injury dug out a keyboard and monitor put them on the NASLite box and it is still denying me permission becuase of the old, dead login ......

There has to be a way of managing this machine without rebooting

How can I get access to the command line on this NASLite box and regain some sense of control over this?

I have a box indexing my MP3s, it has been running for 5 hours and it is only half way through, I do not want to have to reboot just to be able access the admin console.

Any ideas

Fraid the answer is a reboot will be required... I got stuck in a similar situation with the console (see thread http://www.serverelements.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2134&highlight=&sid=eacea7ea2392583f0cbca02a9a34f1b6 and it was a simple reboot.... but yep a reboot.....

The good news.... 5 hours half way through... only 5 hours to go! Go to bed it will all be ok in the morning :D

Thanks, did that

Lesson learnt don't leave admin connections open, use em and quit :-)

Cheers
