Hello all,

Last night we had severe storms in our area that caused a power outage. Even though I have my Naslite boxes on UPS they still went down, power must have been out for quite a while. Anyway, I have a drive on 2 different boxes that will not mount now. Both drives were being written to at the time as I was rendering video to each. Can anyone tell me if I can recover these drives and what I need to do to make it happen?

Thanks in advance
Mark

After the system is up and running, enter the admin menu and perform a complete check and repair of the drives in question. The process may take some time depending on the size of the drives as well as the type and amount of data, but it must be done.

If you are referring to large drives, make sure that there is enough RAM in the machine to accommodate. 256M should be good for 500G drives. If you have and array, 1TB+, you may need 512M or so.

Thanks Tony.. Any idea how long a 250 GB and a 500 GB drive will take to rebuild?

If checking for bad blocks (which I strongly recommend) it could take a long time. Perhaps 6 and 9 hours for the two drives respectively.
