I think I have isolated my access from NL to a remote Linux server as one of rw permissions. I changed ownership:group from jeff:jeff to 1000:1000 and got access to the files. What GID and UID would Naslite be looking for? I see references to admin:admin and 1000:1000 and 98:98 on other directories. Sorry if this is a naive question! thanks Jeff

98:98 appears to be the same as NAS-User:NAS-User which in turn is the default user.

well using chown -R 98:98 i got access to my Remote system ok; thanks!

However can someone explain my next problem: I made a Remote file and using Ghost 10 attempted to backup my system. The Partition where the remote file is stored is 98 GB and empty, however Norton Ghost reported insufficient room before the backup and indeed failed at some 8GB of transfer: insufficient space.

I'm not sure whether I BLOCKED_WORD to the file via shares or the file directly.

I think I am getting there slowly, but stumped by this. Ghost saves to the local Naslite, no problem, but I have run out of physical space and would like to use the Linux remote system

many thanks for any comments or guidance.
