When my Naslite USB boots, it will not mount for some reason. I have existing data in the drive and I cannot format it. Also I have a promise ultra IDE PCI controller card, if I connect my hard disk to it, Naslite won't recognize it at all.

NASLite uses ext3 and not NTFS so that explains things. I think you need to look at the manual.

Best option: Mount the hard drive in (or via USB) an XP computer. Back-up/copy using XP to a computer on the LAN, then install hard drive in the NASLite computer and format with NL and finish by copying the files back to the NL server (via your LAN).

As for your "Promise ultra IDE PCI controller card": look in the hardware ref guide here to see if it is compatible with NL. Not all hardware are compatible with NL (too few in my opinion :( )

Regards
