I am trying to mount one of my naslite drives in linux, but I am getting the following error
mount error 5 = Input/output error
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)

I am using the following command

mount //192.168.1.xxx/disk-4 /win

Can someone help me get past this error.

Possibly because the path is case sensitive (?), try Disk-4 instead of disk-4.

What if you try cut'n & pasting the following:
mount -t cifs //192.168.1.x/Disk-4 /win

The problem must not be how I am entering the command. I have tried entering it many different ways and stil hit this same error.

You may have to explicitly identify the filesystem you’ll be mounting. SMB and NFS can both be mounted using the mount command depending on how your distro is configured. In many cases filesystem autodetection does not work as you are seeing in your instance.

You may also take a look at smbmount for accessing Naslite through SMB.

I am a little closer to figuring this out. I tried this command :

mount -t cifs //192.168.1.xxx/Disk-4 /win -o port=21

And now I get the following error :
mount error 112 = Host is down
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)

My Naslite box is up and running, so I know it is not down. There must be a few more options i need to add. I tried adding username and password, but same results.

Can you ping the naslite box from the client or reach it through web interface / telnet? Check what services are enabled on the NASLite machine.

Yes I am able to access my Naslite box via HTTP and if I ping the Naslite IP address. It is only through the mount command where I am having the problems. I have all of the services enabled.

Just to eliminate a problem within yellow dog, I suggest you try booting with a knoppix live cd and see if you get the same problem.
