I purchased NAS Lite 2 CDD a few weeks ago and setup a server with two older hard drives...everything worked great so I decided to upgrade and use it for bigger and better things...

Just installed 4 new Seagate 320GB SATA drives using a Promise RAID controller (TX4310 - RAID 5). The drives configured properly in the controller card setup so I moved along to NAS Lite...

Booted up and went to 'Storage Configuration' and it shows this error:

something (can't see it): /etc/ServerElements/nldev/Disk-*: No such file or directory

What is causing this?? I tried booting up with my configuration disk and without...same thing...really want to get this up ASAP. Thanks for any help in advance.

I think that Promise raid controller is software raid only, which naslite doesn't support.

Should be able to see individual drives with it thou.

Well I hope that is not the case...

Odd though too because I cannot see the individual drives...I had the two older hard drives hooked up to a Promise ATA controller card and those worked fine too...

Not good if my raid card won't work :(

Just called and spoke with a Promise support rep who gave the me exact chipset the TX4310 card is using:

PDC40719 (or PDC40719-GP)

Is there any chance of this being supported? Can a developer please chime in on this? Its just a standard SATA RAID card and Promise said its a very common chipset on a lot of their cards

Don't see it in the hardware reference so I'd say it's probably not supported.

Another user on the other thread mentioned he got his TX4 series card working...wonder what the difference is...

Is there any way to easily "hack" the driver into this version? Or does anyone know of a request page or email where I can send some info to the devs??
