Hi Tony & Ralph

Would it be possible to release an installer, so a USB stick can be formatted and NASLite installed using another computer than the one running NASLite?

My NasBox is under some stairs, and does not have a CD drive, so upgrades and re-installs (NASLite 2 has failed twice so far, corrupted or something, and I had to reinstall it) are quite a chore, as I have to borrow a CD drive from a friend, etc (I only have laptops).

An installer that allows to format & install NASLite, and setup configuration (network, SN, etc) would be great !

thanks a lot

is that not possible - just install it on any pc - i did it on my laptop - then move it to your Naslite box and log onto the front end via telnet

you can then do everything you want remotely

am new to all this so if i am getting it wrong then apologies

Sorry, forgot to point out: I only have macs at home (apart from the pc running NASLite). I would have tried that of course if I'd had another PC laptop

Am i right to assume this will not work on my MacBookPro?

Thanks for the reply.

You have a couple options, run NASLite thru VMware or parallels.

Or if you just want to copy your existing usb key, you could use the dd command from the CLI.
