I am attempting to create a large (5TB) server using NASlite-2 USB version 2.05. My hardware RAID controller is an Adaptec 31205 PCI express RAID controller (V5.2-0, build 12415) with 12 500G drives. The array is created correctly according to the BIOS utility, but when I boot, I see the following:

# Jul 18 22:09:07 user.info kernel: SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
# Jul 18 22:09:07 user.info kernel: Red Hat/Adaptec aacraid driver (1.1-3 Apr 11 2007 22:41:48 )
# Jul 18 22:09:07 user.warn kernel: scsi: Detection failed (no card)

This seems to indicate that the card was not seen by the driver. I understand that the 31205 is a newer controller (this driver is 1.1.3 from Apr 11, 2007 and current driver from Adaptec is 1.1.5 dated Apr 30, 2007 and available for download) but the adaptec family controllers tend to work off of a common driver. That plus the fact that the 2 drivers are only 19 days apart indicates that the 1.1.3 should work fine.

from reading this forum, I see that others with different Adaptec controllers lost the ability to use them in the 2.04-->2.05 change and I understand that I2O support will be coming back in version 2.06 real soon now so I am hoping this is a temporary setback.

BTW, I have had problems with other NAS and OS's because of the single drive of 5TB. Will NASLite work properly once the controller is recognized and a single large drive appears?

Thanks in advance...
