Just an observation from reading a lot of forum comments over the last year.
Is it time to refine the supported hardware list for v2.x? It seems a lot of people are still nurturing their old Pentium 2/Celerons with 32/64/96MB of RAM. The previous version of NASLite (v1.x) would run on anything with a pulse and floppy drive, which is why we all became loyal fans.
But with the advent of larger drive sizes, and now RAID sets in the TB range, a lot of these old boxes simply can't cut it any longer. At least without a bunch of RAM. NASLite v2.x is great, but it cant work miracles.
I'm still running a P2-233 with 64MB of RAM as my firewall and it works fine. But that's pretty low-key compared to an active file server with hundreds of GB.
Just my opinion. Thanks Tony & Ralph & Team for a great product.
