While technically not a problem with NASLite, I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems with Vista not allowing you to delete files on a NASLite share?

When I try to delete a file through a share that is either a mounted disk (Z:) or a network place, Vista denies access. I can create files without issue (generally).

My synch utility (SyncBack) isn't able to delete files either when it runs a job from my Vista box.

Both my Vista box and the NASLite box are in the same workgroup.

I've tried going in on the Vista box and setting permissions on the mounted drive or network place, but Vista complains that there was an error when setting the permissions and things may be inconsistent with some things set and somethings not.

Lastly, I've turned off Vista UAC, but that doesn't appear to have provided any relief.

Finding something like this in Google has proven difficult because the terms are so generic. The closest I've come is searching for "Vista Delete Samba".

Any thoughts or experiences?

I'm having the same problem.

I can delete files and then delete folders but I get errors if trying to delete a folder that is not empty.

Very strange.

It was all working fine until I upgraded my desktop to Vista. I beginning to think it was a mistake for many reasons other than this.

Grrrrrr....

Strangely enough, I had numerous other problems with file / share access in the house that were all solved (including my NASLITE problem) by installing Network Magic on all the PCs in the house. I've got 2 Vista boxes, 2 XP boxes, and the NASLITE server.

After installing Network Magic, all boxes were able to see all other boxes and my vista boxes were now able to delete files on the NASLITE box.

Strange.

Ray.
