Hi everyone

I'm having all sorts of trouble with my Naslite-2-CDD server. It had been working fine for several weeks, then all of a sudden I noticed my backup software (GoodSync) reporting lots of errors.

Poking around a bit I found that I cannot create or delete files from Windows file explorer. When I checked the server status, all the protocols are set to read/write except for SMB/CIFS and RSYNC, which are set to read only. I tried to change this from the server menu, but it doesn't change the setting.

On shutdown, I see the message:

'Cannot remount - /dev/root read-only'

Please help!

The odds of a setting changing without admin intervention are nil. The configuration is subject to a checksum so a flawed config disk can be ruled out.

That said, are you saving the changes and rebooting before expecting the change to take effect? If so, is you disk write-enabled when saving?

Thanks, Tony

You were completely correct.

I don't know how it happened, but the configuration had been changed and saved to the floppy disk. I resaved the correct settings and rebooted, and it came back to life.
