I have this exact same problem. I downloaded the ISO from Firefox and IE. I've recorded 6 disks using different track-at-once/disk-at-once combinations and transferred them to my compatible USB. I always seem to get "could not find kernel image: boot" prompts after I load up my USB.

UGH

I'm guessing both of you guys are booting using the kicker disk. For that to work the USB drive must be formatted as a superfloppy as the manual states and you'll need over 64M of RAM since at boot time both DOS, USB drivers and Naslite need to be in there.

I am booting off of a 1GB USB drive, formatted as a superfloppy into a system that has 512MB of DDR2 RAM, ASUS M2NPV Motherboard, and 3500+ AMD Athlon 64.

Try formatting with a partition. 1GB superfloppy is likely a problem. You can also try and disable USB2 support in the bios. In some boards that can cause a problem.

I had the same problem. I tried all the tips that I could find in the forums, but what finally worked for me was a different USB drive. I have purchased a brand new Sony MicroVault 1GB USB flash drive and I have the error. I also have a 1-year old Memorex 1GB TravelDrive USB flash drive and I thought...what the he** do I have to lose, and sure enough, it works great!

So it's true...not all pen drives work with all MoBo's...

My new NASLite2 mainboard is a spare Microstar 6378, and the flash drive is configured as a "Boot Other Device" in BIOS. None of the other USB boot settings recognize the flash drive. I guess I got lucky, but if you have some other flash drives laying around, you might want to give them a try. It worked for me!

BTW...the SuperFloppy configuration did not work at all for me (without a kicker, which I did not try.)

Remember, if you get an IDE to CF adapter you can easily get USB running on just about any motherboard with USB installed on the CF card.......

Well, I was trying to avoid using an IDE channel so that I could maximize the number of drives available, as well as avoiding the expense of the IDE to CF adapter...but if there is an adapter out there that doesn't take up an IDE channel, I wouldn't mind the expense...
