I was reviewing my network on my router and I viewed all of the attached devices. When I saw the NasLite-2 listed It had an IP address but no MAC address. Is that just a windows thing?? The MAC address just shows all zeros.

1 192.168.1.2 NASLITE-2 00:00:00:00:00:00
2 192.168.1.3 BIGDADDY 00:13:72:06:68:2a
3 192.168.1.4 NICK 00:07:e9:7a:1e:6f
4 192.168.1.5 MIKERAMSEY 00:0b:7d:0b:ec:13

Any thoughts?

MAC address is assigned to the Network Adapter and it's not a "windows" thing. Prior to NAS Lite when I had just a Linux Samba Server running I could see the MAC in my DHCP table. Now that it's static (wish it was DHCP capable) I can't see it listed but the MAC can report for both linux and windows.

If you run 'arp -a' you will probably see the mac address reported of the box if you are connected to it.

-edited to add command to find mac
