Hi, just new to this and I'm having difficulty. I have set up the network settings and I can ping my IP address that I set up in network configurations but when I try to use a web browser and type in the ip address I get DNS error and I dont get the status page so I can get an unlock code to continue my installation. I'm stuck and I dont now what to do and have been working on this for 2 hours. I have used the IP address of 192.168.2.3 and like I cant get to the status page in order to continue and unlock the software. Any help would be appreciated since I cant go any further. Thanks.

I did some research what is on my CD after I burn it, so here it is.
this is the contents

Docs folder
ISOLinux folder
MNU Folder
Autorun.bat file
Autorun.info file

Docs Folder contents
GPL.TXT
NL2MAN.PDF
NL2REF.PDF
OFFER.TXT

ISOLINUX folder contents
BOOT.CAT
ISOLINUX.BIN
ISOLINUX.CFG
NASLITE.01
NASLITE.02
NASLITE.MSG
NASLITE.SCR

MNU folder contents
PIC Folder
NL1.HTM
NL2.HTM

This is all thats on the CD so am I missing anything and is that the reason I cant access the status page with my IP address because some files are missing.

Please let me know, since I paid for this product I would like to get it working, but I cant continue until this gets resolved.

I downloaded the ISO file again and burned another copy, but I have the same results. Cant access the status screen to get the unlock code.

The PIC folder just contains some gif and jpeg images.

Randy

Have you enabled HTTP in NASLite-2? If you don't you won't be able to browse to the HTML files required for unlocking.

try these step,

1.Boot the server without the floppy in.
2.once booted insert floppy.
3.enter your license key.
4.change your IP to a valid IP you can use on your network.
5. IMPORTANT.. Save config.
6.reboot. leaving the floppy in.

on another machine type in the ip of your server in to firefow or internet explorer.

Randy you burn looks ok, if the above steps dont work post back

Ok thanks everyone I had to change the IP address and got the unlock code.

I have another silly question, do I need to leave the CDROM disk and floppy disk in all the time? And If I shut down do I need to use the CD again to boot NASlite-2 CD?

Thanks for the help.

CD-ROM required every boot. FDD required to load / save amended configuration information.

Have fun now!
