 Post subject: Dual NICs worth doing?

If I have a Windows XP Pro box connected to my NL2 box via a gig switch and each PC have a single gig NIC, is it worth while to install a 2nd gig NIC into each PC and connect them to the same switch? Would this improve performance via load balancing, or is it a waste of effort?
