I'm planning on setting up large'ish file server using NasLite2. I want to make a SATA RAID 0 2TB stripe (i'm aware of the risks of RAID 0) using the ext3 filesystem. Do you any of you see any problems with a stripe that large? I can't see any problems but i've never put together a file server with that much capacity before.

as far as hardware goes, i'll be using 4 500GB SATA drives (not sure on their specific specs yet) and an Adaptec 2420sa RAID card.

Be careful on the adaptec card. Several of us cannot get the 2610sa to work at all and they are probably similar. Others have no problems with it though which I cannot figure out.

Some of the controlers won't support arrays larger than 1.2TB, I don't think the Adaptec card has this problem but you might check and see first to be sure.

I can't see any problams with an array of that size though, fairly common now days.
