I'm running a old Intel Pro 1000 Mt pci network card in my NASlite 2 box. I was thinking of switching to a LINKSKEY LKG-6100 10/20/100/200/1000/2000Mbps PCI Gigabit Network Adapter. Would this get me anymore speed as far as watching movies that are on the NASlite drives?
The system is a p4 1.6g Intel mb with 384megs of memory.

No. The movies are only encoded at about 12Mb/sec anyway. If you are having problems then I would start looking at the IRQs and the slot I have the NIC in. The intel card is a damm good card and a linksys would be no better in all likelyhood.

Also your drives may be having problems if they are on a shared ATA channel and running at say 33MB/sec.

thanks Mike ... I felt like I wasn't getting the most out of the Intel card.
