Hello
I have built a box from an old PC. It has a CD and 2 new WD 200 GB HD's. I have booted up and it is reading the CD I burned, but after a few seconds, it goes to an A prompt and I can't get past that point. It sees two blank HD's as unformatted, which they are. The prompt stops at caldera DOS ver 7.03 and the A>. Any ideas why it is not proceeding? I can't imagine that it is the 2 new unformatted HD's.
Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Trapper99

You are not booting from a NASLite CD if you get the A prompt.

Since there are only 2 blank hard drives and a cd drive on this computer, I am sure I am booting from the cd I burned. At the A> prompt, if I use the dir command, there is a short list of files and one of them is an .exe file (I am at home and do not remember the exact name). If I execute that file, I get a screen that looks a lot like yours does in the user guide, except it is in German.

Your A: drive is your CDROM drive?

Also, FYI, a floppy drive is required for NASLite CDD, not in USB.

I have a floppy drive in that box but did not mention it because there was no floppy in it to read from. If the cd drive is A> , how do I proceed to get NASLite installed? I don't see any directions anywhere for this issue.

Thanks

Reburn the installation CD and redo... doesnt sound like you actually burned the NASLite installation CD imo.

Hi trapper99,

Sounds like to me that you have burnt a CD rom thats a boot disk.
Naslite CDD has no *exe files.

i'd locate the correct iso and try again.

It indeed was the burned cd, which seems to be very problematic in a lot of the posts. Thanks to everyone for the help. I am up and running and it is visible on the network. the drives are set up and ready to go. Thanks to all!!!
