Hello All,

I'll try to explain this so it makes sense. Naslite has a webserver built into it as well as ftp. OK...so I am able to see the drives on my naslite2 box from the internet, however I only get a file listing. In other words if I go to http://xxx.xxx.1.3/Disk-0/web/ (location of my website files), I only get a listing of those files in that directory....even though I do have an index.html file in that directory.

It has been my understanding that If you have and index.html file stored in a web directory, then that is the file your web browser will go to. Now I realize I am missing something here. A few years ago I made a website using front page for the company I work for and as long as I had the index.html file in the web directory on the web server , then everything worked out.

Is there some chmod command I am not doing? or is it that naslite2 will not work as an actual webserver?

If anyone can understand my ramblings and they can help I would really appreciate it.

Neal

There is no command line in NL so forget the chmod command or any other for that matter.

As far as the web browsing goes you should be able to access all the files from a browser with no problem. You shouldn't have to create an index.html file or the like to see them. Is your unlock code valid? That is the nexis of alot of odd function in NL if it is not set and valid.

I can see all of my files , but I want it to go directly to the index page...I dont want to see the other files...am I making sense.

Just like if you are visiting the serverelements home page ..you dont see a list of files and then go to the index.html...you go directly to the index page

Yep, you make sense and I don't think that there is a way to make it happen unless you have another dedicated web server exporting the NL shares. I could be wrong but I don't think so. Tony or Ralph will weigh in on this no doubt and clear it up.
