Greetings,

I'm having difficulty accessing a NASLite network share via CIFS on a Win XP laptop. The Win XP laptop in question is used for work and is assigned to a domain (not a Windows workgroup).

NASLite-2 CDD has been installed and I've verified it's working properly by transferring files to a storage drive via FTP.

The problem is I can't get a NASLite network share to show up in "My Network Places" on the laptop so I can map it to a drive letter.

If I enter the IP address of the NASLite server at the Win XP command line (such as: \\192.168.X.XXX), I get a pop up box prompting me for a password. If I just hit enter without a password, the box simply refreshes and keeps waiting for a password. I tried my admin password, and still no luck.

If it matters, the user name in the pop-up password box is the server IP address with "\guest" at the end. This user name is greyed out so I can't change it.

Bottom line: Is there any way to make NASLite work properly with CIFS and my domain based Win XP work laptop?

Thanks in advance,

John

Code:
net use N: \\xxxxx\Disk-n /USER:NASUser

"xxxxx" is the servername/IP and

Disk-n is the NASlite Disk share (0,1,2,3,etc)...

Thanks very much Dimitriy.

I'll give that a try tonight after I get home from work and see how it goes. I'll post the results.
