I have NASLite2 running in a standard JBOD configuration. I want to convert to RAID.

I am considering purchase of a 3Ware Escalade 7006-2 RAID card, which is supported according to the hardware reference. Perusing the downloaded user manual, I am a bit confused about how to get it installed. Because under NASLite we don't have access to the native Linux command line, how do we install and execute the 3ware Disk Array Configuration Utility for example?

I found a source which will sell a recycled card cheap, but with no software or cables. I have cables and can download software from 3Ware, but am not sure how to proceed.

Forget about those OS based utilities.

Just connect your 2 disks to the card, install it in a PCI slot, fire up the PC and when BIOS appears press ALT 3.

This will bring up the utility to configure your array.

Sounds too simple.

I ordered the card and I'll give it a go.

Cheers
