I recently bought NASLite-2 to use with an EPIA EN12000EG motherboard. When I tried it last night, I got this:

"Detecting Network Device ( NONE FOUND )"

A quick check of the NIC Reference published yesterday (what timing...) revealed that the controller built into the motherboard (VIA VT6122) isn't supported.

There is no provision in the BIOS for disabling it, so I can't just buy another network card. Will this be supported in the near future or do I have to buy another motherboard?

I have never had a MB that did not allow you to disable the onboard ethernet. Ususually its buried in the BIOS settings and occasionally its a jumper on the MB. Did you check the manual?

Me neither. I've followed every path in the BIOS, and have searched a .pdf of the manual for "nic", "network", "lan", etc. No luck. All it tells me is where the port is and how to boot from the LAN.

It's really not an option, anyway, because this board has only one PCI slot, and I'm using a 4-port SATA card in it. (Well, I'm not using it now, but that was the plan...) I bought the motherboard because I wanted a very quiet server, and this one has a passively cooled CPU. Some other VIA products seem to be supported, so I thought this would be, too. I guess most of it is - only the NIC isn't.

I read the manual also and there is not mention of jumers or a setting to disable the lan in the bios.
The only other thing and its slim is a bios update. the bios's i looked at had no info on what they fixed.
