wpapas,

I see you are using a dual processor system. I have a VP6 (Dual Piii) board. Is there any advantage, that you can see, between using 1 or 2 CPUs for NASLite?

Thanks.

no my system is not using raid to backup....just to me used to hook up alot of drives....set all drives to cable select on jumpers then i connected 4
drives to my board and 4 to my raid card....when i booted it found 4 new drives and 4 drives i had in naslte usb1.0.....formated the new 4 drives then mapped them.....done

i see no or little differnce using dual cpu....but had it lying around so why waste it...i was actually using a 1700xp chip with newer board but it seemed like a waste..

another thing for users of naslite......i built a media center for streaming dvds from naslite 1 and 2.......works awsum, and i found these on ebay
if this helps anyone doing the same..
http://stores.ebay.com/Netdogz-Discount-Electronics

seller is real nice and the suprize was when i entered the ip adress of my home network it saw the 8 drives in my naslite2...right away, and about ten minutes to hook up...I bought 2 and can stream to my big media center and the 2 mediagate35s in two other rooms all at the same time...

hope this helps

Just wanted advise people to research the mediagate. I own one and they have there pro's and con's.

First off they do play dvd images well. The divx and xvid play back is a little more tricky. I guess this is because of the varition that there can be. Also the gui is a little iffy.

Any way just do a little research.

your right there are a few bugs, but like i said in my post...streaming dvds
most people i talk to just shrink them, not change to dvx, or ratdvd,or 20 other types of rewriting.

alot of people keep the whole format like myself or just shrink, and for that its an awsum little tool for reading those...ive tried buffulo, linksys, dlink,
and like 5 other brands all with bugs...but dollar for dollar this works great
you dont need a pc to run a program back to it in order to work.

everybody should read before they buy anything, i agree....

but like all tools we use they have bugs...or we would not have forums like this to talk about them...lol

and if anyone buys nalite and adds 2 or 3 terebytes of space, how many movies do you really need to shrink
