I noticed this the other day while trying to fix my Hard Drives that would not mount in Naslite while doing some fiddling.

In Naslite there is a option to check and fix the file system using e2fsck.
But if you encouter a problem with a HD like a power outage etc. then you could end up with a HD that wont mount in naslite, or like I did when I moved HD's to another computer. if you try to fix this in naslite you go to the storage config and select option 7 which is check and fix file system,
But because the HD is not mounted you can't do option 7. But you can perform option 5. check file system. But if you boot knoppix even though the HDs are not mounted you can perfrom the e2fsck and once the HD is back in naslite it will mount.

To test this you can boot your nas make a HD -- i.e. off or not mounted save config reboot and the try the option 7 then 5. this is just what happens when you have a screwed HD that wont mount.

Heres is whats on screen.

Note: All users connected to disk-0 will be disconnected.

Dismounting Disk-0 - FAIL!
You must reboot NASLITE-2 USB and recheck Disk-0

As the HD was not mounted in the first place is this a feature or bug

Definitely a bug. There should be a confirmation at that point on whether to continue or abort rather than abort.
