Okay ... I took a step back, and tried the tricks/hints again. Primarily, I used the CD-ROM Kickers (Iomega and Panasonic) along with the floppy drive version. Same results, the kicker appears to start the process, however, everything is halted when the following message is encountered:
"Kernel Panic: VFS: unable to mount Root fs on 01:00"

Again, I have:
1. changed memory sticks
2. added / removed the total amount of memory
3. upgraded BIOS
4. disabled all non-essential BIOS options (power, security, etc.)
5. re-ordered by boot option.

I still think that the CD boot version will solve my issue. Thoughts.

I was in the same shoes as you and finaly just converted the USB version to a bootable CDROM. Worked fine though it took a bit of time to figure out. It only stores the config on the USB key, everything else comes off of the CDROM. Been running like that for 6 months with no problems and about a dozen reboots and power drops. I just imaged the USB key after creating it using their util and then used Nero to creat the bootable disk. NL will goto the USB key for the config so you have to have it there or it will use the defult and you won't be able to save it.
