Ok, here's a question.

Have a NASLite box I want to put into an office. It will store most of their data (fine). They would like to be able to get a weekly backup they can take off-site. So, here are some of the options I've thought about:

1. Have a backup done from their Windows 2003 Server box. Just have it grab the shares and go.
2. See about a RAID-1 with removable trays; let them remove a tray on Friday, swap and have it rebuild over the weekend.. :)
3. CHeck and see if anyone in NASLite forum has a great idea.

Obviously, #1 is 95% my choice, but I've had offices that have done #2 and did fine (accountants, but they were all running Windows). Plus, while SCSI HotSwap worked like a charm on their proliants, I've never tested such a thing on the kind of SATA cards I'd have available (NetCell Revolution supposedly does this automatically)

Any thoughts?

I have used Acronis Enterprise to backup 3 servers. Citrix, Small Business and PBX server. Now, depending on how much retention that they would want some places are fine with 15-30 iterations, meaning 2-3 weeks worth of backups, the older ones get deleted and replaced with newer files.

Build a box with removable drives and see if that is suitable.
