Hello, can't get through http or telnet to finish setting up my NASLite-2 box.

I went through all of the recommendations for getting the unlock code as the other post with this same problem, but they didn't finish or show a resolution.

So I'm stuck. My NAS box works great with NASLite. I can put the floppy back in. Boot up! Get right to my disk, and even telnet to the Admin page from any computer on the network.

I've used my brower, command line, and telnet with no connection. I've tried firewall off (Zone Alarm), and directly from modem, to router, to my computer, and NAS box.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jon

Did you enter your license code and reboot first? Take a look at the manual and make sure you follow the right procedure.

Yes, I've followed the manual step for step. I save the configuration and reboot every time I make a change. I get to the admin page, log-in and everything posts up with the unlock code as fail.

Are you mixing number "0" and the Letter "o" or number "1" and the letter "I", etc. Did you use the status screen to get the unlock code per the manual? Did you change hardware after unlocking? Something has to be messed up in your setup.

Get another code using the status screens and see if it is the same as the one you have entered. That will be a good start. :?

I will start from scratch, including reformating my floppy to save my configuration. I will post the result in a moment.

Completed restart from scratch. Found one mistake: a "-" was missing between the forth and fifth set on the license.

But the same thing happens. I can't get to the admin page using another computer with the "command", or telnet, or http. The message I get is:

"could not open connection to the host, on port 23: connect failed"

Any help would be appreciated.

Jon

Did you set and save the network parameters?

Thanks Dimension,

I appreciate you hanging with me until I resolved this problem. It turned out to be the network parameters.

I had all of my network set on 192.168.0.xxx, and somehow, I had my NAS box on 192.168.1.xxx. I was going through the Tools and Utilities option, and looking at the Net Status items. I tried to sample the network, and ping another computer. When I checked the IP address of my other computer, I saw the address was different. Once I made the change, it all works. Received my unlock code and BAM!!!! I'm in.

Thanks again,

Jon
