Hi-

I've got NASLite-2 up and running, Disk-0 is a 50GB HDD and Disk-1 is a 500GB HDD. All services are enabled and, with the exception of HTTP: and telnet, are set to R/W.

The system has been unlocked and the configuration saved.

All files are viewable and accessible through both IE and Firefox browsers.

I can easily u/l and d/l files using SmartFTP (logging in as 'anonymous' w/o pw).

I cannot, however, successfully map a network drive in XP Pro without returning 'An internal error occured'. I've tried the 'net use \\192...' from the command line (as suggested here in the forums), and return the same: 'system error 1359'.

Sometimes it will show up under the workgroup in Network Neighborhood, ad sometimes it will not. When it does, I cannot browse to it without returning "\\NasLite201 is not available. You might not have permission blah blah blah". However, when I 'Search for Computer' by IP address, it shows up and lists all shares: Disk-0, Disk-1, Shares, Status. Clicking on one of them, however, once again returns "\\NasLite201\Disk-0 is not available..."

I have entered my NAS IP into Zone Alarms 'Trusted Sites' list, with no success.

I've considered the possibility that it could be my firewall/router (SMC 7008ABR Barricade), but everything appears to be open (or is there a special port for CFIS?)

I haven't yet tried the SFU 3.5 in Lusid's post (Using NasLite NFS with Windows, a Guide), but it's next on my list. I'd really prefer to use SMB/CIFS, however. The NFS service is primarily for another Linux Box that I'm trying to get set up (first things first!)

I'll paste of copy of the syslog, for whatever it's worth; thank you for any insight or redirection to other threads that might be applicable!

--paste syslog---

I was able to easily access the NAS via the NFS Network, per Lusid's excellent instructions. Since I don't yet have a UPS for the NAS, I powered down the box (leaving my XP box on). The next day (today), I powered up the NAS, which was still visible on the NFS network. However, I received the same-old "You might not have permission to use this network resource...etc, etc., etc." The SFU service is still running, had been applied, and backed up.

Similarly, when I try to map a network drive to the NFS share, the system errors "N:\ is not accessible. The data area passed to a system call is too small"

Neither CIFS/SMB or NFS is accessible, although I [seemingly] tried everything suggested in the forums. The only thing that works is HTML and FTP, neither of which is good for streaming.

What's going on?

Thanks for any shred of hope or enlightenment any of you may be able to spare...
