I have recently learned about EVMS (Enterprise Volume Management System) and am really excited about the possibilities of using it. I think NASLite-2 looks excellent and was wondering if there is any support for EVMS, either current or planned. The ability to append disks to create a large filesystem would be most usefull. Also EVMS allows you to move data from failing drives so it's easy to recover from hardware failures. Otherwise how does one backup hundreds of gigs of data. Raid could help but without a hardware raid controller EVMS looks ideal.

It is really a neat piece of software but I think it kinda runs counter to the NAS thing as it pertains to NL2.x and so on. It seems to be more geared to larger storage systems than NL is. IBM is to be commended for the work they have donated to the cummunity so far though. I liked playing with it when I DL it about 8 monthes ago. Just didn't have much of a use for it at the time.
