I have a NASLite 2 machine with 4 250GB IDE/PATA drives. Recently, I have noticed that the NASLite boot-up cycle sometimes takes longer than usual. Watching the process with a monitor, I see that the stall is while ""Checking storage filesystem (Disk-3)". This operation sometimes takes two or three minutes, while the other three drives typically take just a few seconds. Eventually, it shows up as OK and the bootup finishes.

I always use the Shutdown command to shut the box down. The SMART screen shows nothing unusual about the drive.

Anyone have an idea of what is going on here?

Remember that the drives are being regularly checked every 20 boots
