I scored an HP Proliant ML350 G4 (not G4p) that functions but came with no drives.

I installed Naslite -M2 x64 without problem onto a USB drive to boot from.

I found 3 HP-SCSI disks on proper sleds and installed them as RAID 5 with the intention of adding more after the concept i proven.

NASLITE sees the RAID 5 as a single disk and when I ask it to format the array - it seems to be taking an inordinate amount of time on the following task:

Writing inode tables: 471

there is a blinking underbar cursor under the 4 in 471.

Is this simply a lengthy activity? How long before should get worried? I will let it run overnight.

Thanks!

Let me know if it finishes. I think I have some of those boxes laying around in the test stack.

The console now says:

Code:
     Writing inode tables:                      _
                                                ^ --- represents blinking cursor

The number counted down (eventually) and disappeared. The state represented above has been going on for at least 12 hours.

I note that there are several level 5 warnings in the log file, which do not mean anything to me (novice).
