I have 3 Windows 7 machines and 1 XP in my network. A couple of days ago the 7 machines started intermittently being unable to access the NASlite M-2 file server. XP still seems to be okay. Is there a windows 7 update that is a known problem? Anybody else having issues? It has been working with this same configuration for years without problems. What next?

sorry to hear that Lynn but I believe the Win7 problem must be a coincidence. My three work faultlessly. Transition to 7 can't be the cause. Reboot switch hub, perhaps? Jeff

Reboot everything for starters.

Unplug and plug each end of the cable 6 or so times connecting the NAS to the switch. Repeat for the other computers as a matter of course.

Reset the NASLite server BIOS and turn off all devices not in use. IE: printer port, serial ports, USB controller, floppy interface etc.

From time to time parts go bad, this is true for on board NICs as well. Had a similar issue which turned out to be a bad NIC.
