NASLite Network Attached Storage

I'm in the process of moving my M2 license to a new machine [the old one is on its last legs]. M2 has been running fine on my old machine for about 3 years now.

When I boot up on the new machine I get the following messages:

Cannot allocate resources region 5 of device 00:1f .2

ieee1394 driver: sbp2: Driver forced to serialize I/O (serialize i/o =1)

In the install process after I enter the license serial number and save the configuration the system shuts down and in doing so issues, among others, this message:

Detecting network devices (none found)

Both the cabled and wireless NICs on the computer is working fine: I checked them by loading a Linux distro from the optical drive and was able to get to the internet without incident. The NIC on the new computer is an on-board Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adapter, JMC26X. There is also a Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN adapted. There is not a BIOS facility to switch off either adapter.

What might be going on and how do I fix it please?

I don't think that NASLite supports IEEE 1394 (firewire), only USB. I know that there is no facility to setup a wireless connection nor is wireless supported with drivers. It may simply be that the board is not liked by NASLite. You can defaulting the BIOS first and then turning off all the devices on the MB that are not needed for the server appliance and see if that works for you as a starting point.

As Mike said, no WiFi with NL. Look if you can deactivate WiFi in the BIOS. If not, try playing (in NL config) with the LAN cards (FIRST or LAST setting)

Thanks much for the advice. I suspected driver problems and wifi "contention". I am trying to use a Shuttle XS35 which is one of their fanless/slim units but because the BIOS [even upgraded to the most current level] doesn't provide control over the network hardware and because the NIC is soldered to the mainboard, I doubt if this is going to work. Back to the drawing board.
