Hi,
My Dell 755 Optiplex has onboard RAID 1 support from the Intel Storage Manager which configures fine. Set up RAID 1 and using NASlite I can see disk in Windows Explorer but unable to created files \ folders - obviously set to Read Only. The nas lite storage configuration showns me that the export disk is -- and shown as not mounted

Set up the disks using the NASlite disk mirror and I can see both disks and save \ create files folder etc.

How can i set up RAID 1 within naslite

Has anyone else had this issue ? can you help?

I have 3 hard drives in my system. 1 for naslite 80gb and then 2 x 250gb drives to act as my RAID 1 set up.

is that a hardware card for raid or software raid - if the latter the naslite does not support it

Thank you for your prompt reply. The Intel Matrix Storage Manager is a firmware raid, so not hardware or software rather an in the middle raid. Please see the wiki link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Matrix_RAID

Many thanks for your feedback. I have checked the core 3 storage device support manual which is on the naslite m2 documentation and it clearly states Dell Optiplex 755 and it is listed as ata_piix. So it must be supported,

Can anyone assist please?

I like the software so would like to see this prodiuct work to its full potential

Likely, "supported" simply means that the SATA controller is supported. As far as a RAID, firmware RAID is not a dedicated hardware RAID engine and memory. You can use the mirror functionality built into NASLite to get something akin to RAID one safety.
