Can someone please give me step by step instructions for removing a mirror (1 or all)

I've looked everywhere for months and months and I can't seem to find a way to do it.

Cheers, Mark.

If anyone could also point me in the direction for understanding the syslogs that would also be appreciated.

I had a drive that was slowly failing for the last few weeks and I could not for the life of me work out which one it was from the logs.

Many thanks.

Hi

It is very easy. Login via telnet to NL. Option 3 - Storage config then choose the option 0, 1 or 2 etc for the disk which has the mirror information(s), Option 9 - Mirror to ... Hit enter on an empty Mirror > line, NL will ask if you want to cancel mirror, answer Yes. Repeat for all drives that you want to clear the Mirror commands.

That all folks :)

Thanks Robrub!!!

I've been typing all sorts of things at the prompt - never thought of just hitting enter.

I've wasted so much time trying to figure that out... sheesh! I should have asked the question here a lot sooner.

Your help is much appreciated.

Hi again

You have to be much more specific and verbose than a drive slowly failing... What are the symptoms ? Any info on the sys log ?

Or even post your syslog for us to look at and maybe someone will be able to point you in the right direction!

You could also look at the drive info on the service pages and that might give you a clue also.

Thanks for your help!

I'll post the Syslog below (made after failed drive was replaced - it doesn't show the Syslog before the drive failure; I didn't think to copy and paste it out).

I suppose I need to reframe the earlier question about the Syslog; Where can I go or how can I get the information that will give me the ability to learn how to read the Syslogs for myself? I've look everywhere on the net and ServerElements site without much luck.

I don't know a lot about Linux; is this why I can't understand the Syslog?

Thanks again for your help, it's much appreciated.
